With 16 years of experience providing health care in Timmins and no signs of slowing down, Patrick and Tina Rainville continue to build on their success with big plans for Rainville Health, their unique podiatric practice. The two co-owners have just cut the ribbon on a new 5,000-square-foot location on Algonquin Boulevard, opened a satellite clinic in Cochrane, and plans are well underway to open a new satellite clinic in Kirkland Lake in November. “This is our third location in Timmins - we outgrew our last two,” said Tina. “Just five years ago, there were only four of us, and now we have 13 staff.” As the business has grown, so has its ever-expanding range of services, leading its name to be changed from Complete Foot Care to Rainville Health. “We wanted our name to encompass our services that care for the whole body,” said Patrick. “We want to focus on the feet as well as the rest of the body. The idea is that someone can come here and be completely taken care of: we have a full esthetics department, we have a massage therapist coming on board, and we’re going to have a yoga instructor here once a week.” The business’ new Timmins location includes a state-of-the-art central fabrication facility — the only one of its kind north of Sudbury — where Rainville staff can create custom orthopedic inserts for clients. It also boasts an orthopedic shoe store and clinic, plenty of examination areas and procedure rooms, and an esthetics department. “We still have extra room here, so we are looking for other health care providers to join us, too,” said Patrick, noting that he has already seen the benefits of having more departments specializing in different areas operating in the same place. “It’s all complementary medicine. If I have a client who is having trouble moving, for example, I can get the yoga instructor in here to stretch him or her out. That benefits everyone.” Patrick and Tina first met at Canada’s only chiropody school, located in Toronto, before working in Ottawa for a time. However, when the opportunity to move back to Patrick’s hometown of Timmins arose, the two jumped at the chance. The move paid off: with roughly 500 chiropodists in Canada, Rainville Health has become a regional centre for this type of care, especially in light of its approach to caring for the body. Further, its fabrication lab is big enough that to create insoles for other practices throughout the region. With strong levels of expansion in a relatively short amount of time, Rainville’s owners were quick to learn to manage this growth, as well as their newly sizeable staff. “We actually started taking a business management course focused on learning to provide the best service you can by using your staff in the most efficient way possible and to their best capacity, so that we’re not always running on a hamster wheel,” said Tina. “It’s really taught us how to pick the right team and trust them with the right things. I think we’ve seen a lot of good things because of that. We have a great team.” Rainville Health is located at 70 Algonquin Boulevard West, and you can find them online at rainvillehealth.ca. You can contact them at (705) 268-3338 or visit them during their hours of operation on Monday: 9:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., Tuesday: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., Wednesday: 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., Thursday: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Friday: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Click here to see the full-sized photo.
