Finalists announced for 2020 Nova Business Excellence Awards TIMMINS, ON | March 3, 2020: The finalists for the 2020 Nova Business Excellence Awards have been selected, as the Chamber has announced the 45 leading adventurists of Timmins business who will blaze the trails as finalists at the region’s biggest celebration of entrepreneurial achievement. A total of 124 nominations were submitted across 15 award categories for this year’s May 7 event and were narrowed to three finalists per category by a panel of independent community judges. These finalists will be celebrated under the theme of Camp Nova – the Nature of Business, to showcase the many ways these entrepreneurs are survival experts, navigating the rocky and wild terrain, leading the way forward. “This year’s slate of incredible nominees is yet another reminder that Northern Ontario entrepreneurs are leaders in shaping the socio-economic landscape, incorporating our great northern terrain into almost every aspect of their business, and they deserve our recognition,” said Val Venneri, President of the Chamber. “It’s clear from this list of finalists that our local entrepreneurs have earned more than just a few camp badges of respect, which is why we’re looking forward to celebrating the best of Timmins business at the Nova Awards on May 7.” Now in its 18th year, the annual awards gala is dedicated to Timmins business success stories and highlights their positive impact on the region and its economy. As such, this annual celebration of business is a crucial one, said Venneri. “Our businesses consistently work with each other, indoors and out, to help make Timmins a great place to work, live, and play. It’s why we’re honoured to have spent 18 years making sure their achievements are recognized and we look forward to more than 700 attendees joining us at the Nova Awards to help us celebrate this unforgettable evening.” When asked about #Nova2020, Venneri goes on to state, “each year, the Nova Awards feature a unique theme that helps us build anticipation and be creative with the look and feel of the event. Doing business in Northern Ontario means that we get to live in nature’s great backyard, so naturally, we’re looking forward to bringing that feeling into the McIntyre Arena that evening.” Tickets to the gala event will go on sale March 24 at $160 plus HST, or $125 plus HST for Chamber members, and tables of 10 are available. Ticket reservations can be made via email at [email protected] A photo gallery of finalists receiving their notifications is available at on the Chamber’s Facebook page.
