Pillow fights? In an office? Laughter filled the air as MNP team members in the east coast engaged in spirited pillow battles, all in the name of FUN! This lively event provided a much-deserved break during the bustling busy season. Two new hires had the privilege of witnessing this playful spectacle on their very first day. “I have to admit, I have never experienced a pillow fight in the office before (on my first day or any day for that matter). Even though I didn’t participate, it was fun to watch. The tax team must have had some pent-up energy because there was no pillow talk with this pillow fight. They went all out!! Little surprised there were no feathers flying around in the end, but made for some entertaining memories on my first day.” – David, Lead Data Engineer “It was such a unique idea. I only spectated, but it looked like a great stress reliever! It definitely provided a bit of an escape and lots of entertainment, especially for our team members in the middle of tax season!" – Jessica, Lead Accounts Clerk Find your life at MNP by visiting http://bit.ly/3qRZc0z #LifeAtMNP

Neither Alex nor Jamie had a will or estate plan. And when Alex was diagnosed with a terminal illness, it was the last thing they wanted to think about. The couple was married, didn’t have any children, and assumed all Alex’s assets would automatically pass to Jamie anyway. Unfortunately, the reality was a bit more complicated. This case study explores the legal and tax-related nuances of estate planning — and the proactive steps you should take well before the unexpected happens. Learning from Alex and Jamie can help you ensure a surviving partner is taken care of in the event of an unforeseen accident or illness — and that your final wishes are fulfilled.
