Our shared commitment to ensuring families have a place to call home made it a natural fit for DKI Canada to partner with Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada through our Bringing Families Home campaign. In 2023, we reached a significant milestone by raising an impressive $262,647 for RMHC Canada, earning us the title of National Mission Partner. This achievement reflects our collective dedication and effort throughout the year and underscores our commitment to supporting the mission of Ronald McDonald Houses nationwide. Throughout the year ahead, DKI Canada and our Members will continue to participate in a wide array of fundraising activities, both locally and on a national scale, from ice fishing derbies to bowling tournaments, cycling fundraising events and hockey tournaments in support of our Bringing Families Home campaign. “We’ve smashed the record outta the park,” says Laura Twidle about the number of major weather catastrophes in Canada. The CEO of CatIQ tells us how her organization collects the disaster-related data that helps insurance and public sector stakeholders. They’re no longer anomalies. Major catastrophes are now regular – even seasonal - occurrences. And they’ve spawned an industry of experts who provide important catastrophe-related data to insurance and public sector stakeholders. CatIQ is leading that charge, with Laura Twidle at its helm. Congratulations to DKI - Rocky Cross Construction North (RCCN) LTD. on the incredible success of their 2nd Annual Charity Hockey Classic! This wildly popular event nearly doubled last year's total, raising an astonishing $53,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada! The compassion and generosity of everyone involved will provide over 315 nights of stay for families facing medical crises, allowing them to focus on what matters most - their child's health and well-being.

A shout out to the Caetano family at DKI Refexio who welcomed our staff and DKI Members with a bbq last week. 🙌

With a heart full of gratitude, I am thrilled to announce that this McHappy Day was a record-breaking one. THANK YOU to Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast for showing up to celebrate this day of community giving. You have made a meaningful difference in the lives of families with sick children, facing a most unexpected and difficult time. Your generous spirit makes all the difference. And to our founding and forever partner, McDonald’s Canada, and every member of the McFamily – thank you for your unwavering support, in caring communities across Canada.
#McHappyDay keeps getting bigger! We had another record-breaking year as we marked our 30th McHappy Day and surpassed $100 million raised since our first event. Proud of how McDonald's Canada comes together to support Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada and local children’s charities across the country. The impact of McHappy Day lasts far beyond a day – because of you, families and children across Canada will receive the support they need, when they need it the most. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this our biggest McHappy Day ever: our incredible guests, franchisees, restaurant teams, corporate staff, suppliers, volunteers, and esteemed government officials that joined us across Canada.
