Did you Know… We are a Hardox Wearparts Member! Our business model is comprised of an ecosystem of industry-best partners. A key partner is SSAB – a world leading foundry specializing in hard plate. Their Hardox® line has production quality standards and metallurgy that are perfectly aligned for the rigors of hard rock mining. We have a partner agreement to incorporate Hardox material into our new bucket builds, and liners for high wear applications like truck boxes. It is with great pride that we announce that we are 1 of only 3 qualified members in Ontario that meet the Hardox Wearparts member requirements!!! A huge shout out to Kevin Parkin, Bo Tobias Appelkvist, and Steve Cunningham for your ongoing support. That is part of our ongoing quest to be a better company, that brings value to our clients. And one way to achieve that is by providing the best raw materials – SSAB Hardox plate. What we build, builds us.

Another Successful Overhaul Project Part of our business model is to ruggedize mining equipment components, to a state that is better than new. We had a chance to prove our claims by adding our Rhinowear wear products to a large mining shovel. This overhaul engaged every department from our Designers, Align Bore technicians, Fitters, Welders, Surface Treatment, Painting, and Transportation. The attached images show the shovel after its abrasive blasting which prepares it for painting. We use steel shot media, versus sand, which is recaptured and reused in the process – thus eliminated waste and increasing our own production efficiency. In the end, we built a better, longer lasting face shovel for our customer that improves their production and efficiency. The future of mining in northern Ontario is extraordinary – we are proud to grow with it. What we build, builds us.

We Got a New Toy! Since moving into our state-of-the-art facility in 2017, we have continued to modernize and expand to meet the needs of our clients and sector. Our latest addition to our production assets is an induction heater from Miller Electric! As one of our ecosystem partners, we relied on the expertise of Garry Hunt and Rolly Benard to design, configure, install, and train our production crew. The induction heat allows us to migrate away from open flame pre and post heat of our specialty alloys. So, we are now safer, faster, more economical, and more consistent that we were when we prepare our steels and alloys for welding. This is another element of our Continuous Improvement Plan, that ultimately helps us help our customers improve their productivity. What we build, build us.
